After ending 2016 with a festive flourish, the Oriel CRiC Gallery in Crickhowell is looking forward to another successful year welcoming visiting artists and showcasing and celebrating the region’s rich creative offering. In addition to the in-house exhibition program, the gallery will continue to show work off-site at a number of venues, including the CRiC Studio – a venue available to rent for pop up, group and solo exhibitions.
Artists are once again being invited to submit work for an Open Art Competition. After the extraordinary success of the competition over the past three years the gallery will again be offering the opportunity to artists from far and wide to exhibit in an exhibition to be launched during the annual Crickhowell Open Studio weekend.

Suzette Pratten said, “Since its inception the exhibition has been marked by the exceptionally high standard of the work submitted. In addition to the prizes awarded by the judges, visitors annually relish voting for the “Visitors’ Choice” Prize over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend.”
She added, “Selecting work by professional, amateur and emerging artists not only creates the opportunity for many to exhibit in the beautiful gallery space, but also offers local residents and visitors to the area the chance to enjoy, be inspired by or purchase a piece of art whatever their budget. We are pleased to be adding an additional “Legends of Wales” category in support of the national Year of Legends.”
